Task-two

  • What makes him/her interesting and unique?

  •        -My cousin had to have half his brain cut in half, so this made it difficult for him to learn. He is now 25 and has the brain of a 12 year old.
  • What sort of questions would you ask and why?

  •        -What were some of his struggles through school, because he didn't learn as fast as the other students and when I don't understand something in class, I stress, so I would just like to know how he got through school.
-Who influenced him through school, because I know he found someone to look up to and would go to them if he ever needed anything.

  • What sort of problems do you think may arise for Task Two?

  •        -Finding the right questions to ask, or finding something that he wants to talk about.

  • What do you anticipate? Why?

  •         -I don't know if all get a lot of answers beacuse he doesn't always understand what you are asking.

  • What questions do you have for Task Two?

  •         -I don't really have any questions at the moment.

    Self-Evaluation

    Self-Evaluation

What is the thesis for your paper?
He showed every player what it’s like to work hard, love the game, but also through games and practices, he taught us some important life lessons, like setting examples about not letting anything get to him, or being someone to talk to when I had a family/friend problem.

List the main points you make in your paper.
        Helping me through diffcult

What was the most helpful advice you received from your peer evaluation?
Putting more detail into major parts.

What was the most helpful information you received in class for your paper?
That I needed more detail in my second paragraph, I think the information made my more interesting.

How many drafts of this paper do you think you wrote and how/when did you write them? For example, did you compose at the keyboard, did you write lots of notes to yourself, did you pre-write or outline, did you write in small chunks of time or sit down and produce an entire draft at one sitting?
I wrote only two drafts, first I free wrote on paper, editing it on the computer, and finishing my final draft on the computer.

What would you do differently with this paper to make it more effectively, or what did you try to do that you just don’t think you got a good handle on?
When I write essays for class I feel like some parts I lose the reader attention, and I don't like when I do that.

What are most pleased with about this paper?
I feel like I stayed on the topic and didn't drift off. I think I also showed how my coach impacted my life.

How it feels to be colored me.

When I am labeling myself, I think of me being strong because of some of the situations I struggled through in life. Growing up I did not have the perfect or even close to a good “father daughter” relationship. He was around but not really around. My dad was more like a fly on the wall, did not care about anyone or anything but himself, and did what he wanted to do, even if it hurt the ones closest to him. Some of the things he told me, made me realize that it was not true at all. The more I talked to my friends about it, the more I could brush his opinions off. I realized that everything he was saying to me he should have really been saying it to himself. Every time he would put me or another family member down he was really putting himself down. As I got older I realized anything he said did not matter to me or even bother me, and I could just ignore it. When I finally got old enough to decide if I still wanted him around in my life, I got up enough courage to tell him that I do not want anything to do with him, and that I wanted him to leave me alone and never talk to me again. The summer before I started high school was the last time I talked to my father, and from then on I feel like what I did that day I could take on anything.

    Letter of Introduction

My name is Korey Jo McDermott, and in sixth grade I graduated from Pickett Elementary, then graduating from Truman Middle School in eighth grade, and finally on May 10th 2010 I got to walk across a stage accepting my diploma from Central High School. Going into college this year I am undecided on what I want my future plans to be. Ever sense I was little I wanted to be a vet, I was always around animals, but as I got older I got more into sports. In fifth grade I got the idea of becoming a professional basketball player, until I realized I was one of the worst players on the team. In middle school, my gym teacher thought it would be a good idea to try out for Truman’s volleyball team. I have to say I was better at this sport than basketball; I scored 14 points in one match. When I got to Central one of my close friends talked me out of track and trying out for the soccer team. Sophomore year I played my first Varsity soccer game scoring the last point on our own team, ending the game. After that I decided that playing sports wasn’t my thing, but I still loved being around the different games. My soccer coach told me I should be a manager/trainer for the sports I liked, and that’s when I got the idea of majoring in Biology to become a sports trainer.

I was born in St. Joseph Missouri, and lived in Faucett Missouri my first two years, and then moved back to St. Joseph. I graduated from Central High School last May, with 460 other students. Through school, I was never the quiet person of our group. I was usually deciding what to do that night, or where to eat after school. I don’t do much reading on my own, and I never really like what we had to read in my language classes. And most of the time I have to be in the reading mood or I fall asleep after half a page in the book.

If I have to write about something I would rather have a topic than a free write. Poems and essays are not one of my favorites. I usually put those off until last minute because I always get writers block. I could write a letter to my best friend for days.

Some random things about me would be I have tried to play almost every sport out there. My favorite color is orange, I was born on Halloween, and I have “orange” hair. My favorite show right now has to be Jersey Shore “fist pump!” I love going out with my friends and I’m hardly ever home, but some nights I like staying in making pop corn and having a movie night, watching all my favorite movies with my best friend.
